Come and discover the secrets of the Old Prison of Trois-Rivières. Experience life as a prisoner in the 60’s and 70’s with an ex-inmate as your guide. Enter into the inmate’s daily life and familiarise yourself with his uniform, his meals and his hobbies. Discover the true meaning of freedom and imprisonment by exploring the poetry of the incarcerated, play the role of warden or prisoner, try on the restraining vest and much, much more…
Graffiti Workshop
Grades 3 to 6, Elementary School
Come and discover the vitality and audacity of graffiti and the consequences of its practice. In a workshop setting, create your own graffiti art using techniques inspired by graffiti artists.

A visit-experience in prison - with ex-inmates as guides... Ex-inmates guide you through the area as you discover prison life as it was lived during the 1960s and 70s.
Confessions of an Ex-Inmate
Secondary and Collegial
Hear an ex-inmate’s account of his/her journey through the penal system. Get to know his/her and share in their personal experience of imprisonment and rehabilitation. Familiarize yourself with the notion of misdemeanour and its consequences by discussing themes such as alcohol, social marginality and freedom. Follow their path from delinquency to the penal system, and the consequences it entails: solitude, loss of freedom, friends, love and family. Glance at the various organizations committed to social rehabilitation and prevention. Share your thoughts and impressions during a plenary session.
Sentenced to One Night

In the Old Prison of Trois-Rivières, come and experience incarceration by visiting grounds
rich with history and by spending the night in prisoners’ cells. Arrival at 7pm and set free at
9am the next morning. One adult guardian (free) per 10 students for
school groups.
